SEH is seeking a Funding / Economic Development Specialist to join our Community and Economic Development team supporting our Texas market. This is a fully remote position.

The Community and Economic Development team at SEH focuses on helping communities become the places where businesses thrive and people live their best lives. This Opportunity:

  • Collaborate with SEH operational leaders across service areas to assess, coordinate and attain funding for water resources projects in Texas communities by aligning funding programs with development, engineering, and infrastructure projects
  • Meet regularly with clients and SEH service teams to provide information and valuable advice based on federal, state and local information that is accurate, current, and available to SEH
  • Manage grant application process and administer grants on behalf of SEH clients to assure the successful delivery of project activities and goals.
  • Attend SEH client meetings to share current and accurate financing information available to them while working efficiently with SEH service areas including local SEH Texas employees and operational leaders across service areas to provide a superior client experience that aligns with community goals

Essential Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, urban planning, civil engineering, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Municipal Grant Funding, Writing and Administration in the State of Texas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of State(s) Funding/Agencies processes and requirements, federal funding application processes and requirements with proven ability to communicate them effectively to internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team of engineers, project managers, and community development specialists, providing input and feedback on funding opportunities and strategies.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to potential clients, partners, and proposal reviewers, showcasing the value and impact of engineering solutions for community development.
  • Proficiency in tracking and reporting on application progress and outcomes using Excel and Hubspot (or similar CRM), ensuring accuracy and consistency of data and documentation.
  • Understanding of how different funding agencies evaluate and prioritize applications, and how to tailor engineering proposals accordingly, highlighting the technical, social, and environmental benefits.
  • Familiarity with grant administration and compliance, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $90,000 and $125,000 based on skill set and experience.
