Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 30 lbs, standing or walking with objects up to 20 lbs. Regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods with regular repetitive motions
Shift
Primarily days (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm). Occasional time required for nights, weekends or holidays to accomplish work goals in excess of 40 hours per week. This position is subject to a rotational one week on-call schedule approximately once every 2 months.
Job Summary
This position functions as a unified communications systems engineer, working within a larger team to support university collaboration systems, including Voice over IP, Video over IP, contact centers, and supporting platforms. The engineer should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within IT Collaboration and Communication fields. The role relies on technical experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals, performing a variety of tasks under general supervision. A high degree of creativity and independent thinking is required.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Complex problem-solving skills, Proficiency in MS Office Suite & Visio. Cisco Collaboration Suite. Teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are critical.
