Executive Director Health and Wellness Services
Having direct oversight of Student Health Services, Counseling Services, and Disability Services, the Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership to advance all aspects related to health and wellness within the campus community. The Director plays a critical developmental role in establishing within each student, an awareness and understanding of personal health and wellness. As such, significant student contact and educational outreach is expected. Additionally, they are expected to provide leadership that integrates various emotional wellbeing initiatives consistent with a holistic approach as well as provide psychological support. The Director will serve as the primary liaison between various internal and external constituencies to include parents, faculty, staff, administrators, students, student organizations, community health agencies, and medical professionals. At times, the Director will be called upon to serve as either chair or member of various University committees whose purpose includes but is not limited to health and wellness. They will also maintain a case load of clients, participate in on-call duty rotation within counseling and student health operation to respond to after-hours crises and concerns, respond to help address student mental or physical health emergencies when necessary. This position serves as a member of the campus Emergency Response Team and as a member of the CARS (Care for At Risk Students) group. Due to this positions function and or job title this position has been designated a Campus Security Authority for Clery Act reporting. If this individual becomes aware of a Clery reportable crime they must contact campus police immediately and report the crime.
Executes a primary care health program to meet the needs of students and the greater campus community. Oversees daily department operations, budget development, policy development, clinical protocols, and implementation. Spearheads a programmatic model of proactive education and outreach among students. Maintains budgetary responsibility, provides direct nursing care, and manages confidential health records.
