Post Doctoral Associate
Med-Neurological Surgery - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25002307)

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery is hiring for a Postdoctoral Associate in the lab of Dr. Zhimin Huang. His laboratory focuses on developing noninvasive molecular tools to control and monitor endogenous processes in intact cells and tissues. By integrating therapeutic ultrasound, protein engineering, and pharmacology, we aim to achieve spatiotemporal and molecularly precise modulation of endogenous molecules within their natural environment. This approach aspires to establish new paradigms in neuroscience and advance therapies for brain disorders.?

A key responsibility of the postdoctoral researcher will be to generate high-quality preliminary data that demonstrates the feasibility and potential impact of our innovative approaches. Preliminary data are essential for substantiating the scientific premise of our research and are often a critical component of successful grant applications. By producing compelling preliminary findings, the postdoc will strengthen our applications for larger external grants, such as NIH R01s, thereby enhancing our lab's funding prospects and research capabilities.

Minimum education to be considered for this position is a PhD in a related field.
