Operations Manager
We are seeking a strong leader to fill our Operations Manager role, located in our Henderson, TN site. The Operations Manager will drive a culture of continuous improvement and safety leadership, ensuring the team meets production schedules, adheres to quality standards, and operates within budget. This role requires a strategic and analytical leader with a strong understanding of manufacturing best practices, Lean methodologies, and the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
How You Will Help
Safety Leadership:
Champion and maintain a Safety-First culture aligned with company safety principles, ensuring the health and safety of every team member.
Ensure critical EHS initiatives are completed, and policies/procedures are followed.
Lead EHS incident reviews with the support of the EHS Manager and drive resulting action items to timely completion.
Operational Excellence:
Lead and manage the Operations team, to ensure that the CNC machining/Presses (200Ton- 400Ton) and automated assembly process manufacturing is in clear direction and goal alignment with the plant and company's vision, mission, and values.
Establish and execute key business and Cap Ex strategies with a forward-thinking approach to improve efficiency, profitability, and growth.
Oversee Quality Management System (ISO 9001) processes and ensure their integration into all operations, ensuring accountability for quality production through training and standard operating procedures.
Execute the production plan as defined by Production Control, ensuring timely delivery of product.
Analyze data on production capacity levels, cycle times, material flow, and manpower levels, assisting Production Control in maintaining accurate production master data in the ERP system.
Coordinate the operations staff across shifts to ensure seamless completion of plant duties.
Ensure the timely and accurate completion of production data entry.
Communicate production performance regularly to the Plant Manager.
Continuous Improvement:
Champion a Continuous Improvement Culture, implementing lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Daily Management, Pull, SMED, and Standard Work.
Identify and implement activities to reduce manufacturing costs, enhance flow, identify waste, and improve operational efficiency.
Champion site Value Stream Transformation initiatives for shop floor layout/processes.
Perform root cause analysis for operational deviations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Analyze manufacturing data (earned hours, utilization, throughput, other KPIs) using analytical abilities and Excel skills.
Customer Focus:
Ensure a Customer First approach is embedded within the organization.
Maintain industry-leading delivery performance by upholding superior standards of quality, lead-time, and accuracy.
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to support new product introductions and align production capabilities with customer needs.
People Leadership:
Attract, develop, and retain top talent, including establishing robust succession plans for key positions.
Foster an inclusive and engaging employee culture with strong reward and recognition systems.
Lead training and development initiatives to enhance skillsets and drive team performance.
Work with the Plant Manager in the hiring of plant operations staff.
Create a collaborative environment utilizing input from all team members to produce positive results.
What You Will Bring
Previous experience as an Operations Manager in a manufacturing plant or other industrial manufacturing plant
10+ years plant operations, 5 years in a management capacity
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering or a related field. MBA- Highly preferred
Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
Experience with best practices / LEAN manufacturing or certification in these areas.
Knowledge of applicable Codes and Standards including TOSHA, local, state, and federal health, and safety regulation
