Description:

The Maintenance Technician will support and maintain equipment used in the manufacturing operation. The specific equipment will vary and can include die cast machines, CNC milling, X-ray, leak testers, robotics, air compressors, dryers, chillers, sensors, overhead cranes, etc. This position is responsible for maintaining all equipment to satisfy manufacturing and engineering needs.

• Observe devices in operation to locate root cause of problem
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
• Repair and/or replace defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; test for electrical and hydraulic circuitry and mechanical systems; order supplies and repair items as necessary
• Support continuous improvement of the PM work instructions; adding, removing, defining these instructions and express improvements suggested to the Maintenance Manager
• Engage in proactive maintenance activities that include repairing air leaks, oil leaks, replacing components, continuous improvement activities, project work, and minor repairs to equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC problems

• Minimum 2 years' related experience in Die Casting and CNC Machining operations
• Experience in manufacturing maintenance preferred
• Electrical background plus mechanical troubleshooting ability
• Knowledge of UBE or Buhler Prince Die Cast machines; hydraulic systems; stackmelter functions and operations; overhead cranes; plant air systems; hot oil heating units; Rimrock sprayers/ladles mechanical functions and controls; Fanuc and ABB robots programs, manipulation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time
• Ability to work in high temperature setting on a regular basis
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects up to 55 pounds regularly
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, and complete visual inspections
