Lab Technician III
Conduct basic and applied physical tests in a controlled test environment to report data essential to assure our products will function as intended.
Key Responsibilities
Follow standard procedures to conduct testing of products by operating manual and automatic laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, environmental chambers, pressure test machines, tensile testers, hydraulic power units, helium leak detectors and mechanical cycle testers.
Read and interpret test plans and procedures and determine test set-up.
Design, fabricate and assemble tooling to adapt test samples into test equipment and measurement devices. This will include the acquisition of test equipment and materials, set-up of test, running tests, data collection; tear down of test systems, and other incidental tasks.
Perform failure mode analysis, photograph results and compile data into clear, concise and repeatable multi-media reports.
Provide resource estimates of non-routine work to lab management and product development teams and follow through to meet the commitments.
Work with other technicians and personnel to meet program requirements.
Use computerized and analog data acquisition methods to collect data and give feedback to Design and Engineering to finalize plans and procedures.
Maintain equipment and perform preventative maintenance
Perform all functions is accordance with ISO and UL DAP requirements.
Work to support continual process and capability improvement.
Identify and assist in remediation of any and all safety hazards in the work place.
Perform all functions while utilizing the appropriate PPE.
Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Associate’s degree in a technical discipline; or two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
General familiarity with mechanical products, systems, and assemblies.
Ability to work efficiently, exercise strong discipline, and focus on safety.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Desire for continuous improvement and willingness to pursue ongoing training.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
