As a Senior Machinist at ASC - Columbia Plant, you will have the opportunity to work with your hands. You may be responsible for reading blueprints, fabrication/welding, tooling repair, designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.



Key Responsibilities


Essential Job Duties:
  • Tool and die blueprint reading
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Fabrication/welding
  • Familiar with Injection Molding
  • Manufacturing repair
  • Tooling repair
  • Precision measuring instrument
  • Repairing molds
  • Operating grinding and milling machines
  • Tear down, clean, assemble after fix, clean, polish
  • Grind, mill & lathe
  • Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances
  • Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts
  • Measuring and marking metal stock for machining
  • Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines
  • Filing, grinding, shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish
  • Fitting and assembling tools and mold parts
  • Inspecting finished dies and molds for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities
  • All other duties/tasks as assigned
Qualifications:

Required:
  • General Machine Knowledge
  • AutoCad or Solidworks Experience
  • Majority of time is spent standing and repetitive use of both hands
  • Working in a factory environment - heat, dust, etc
