Perrigo Nutritional’s, located in Georgia, VT, is looking for a Lead Packaging Operator to join their team.

Shift Details: 6am-6pm ET on a repeating 2-2-3 schedule (Week A: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat; Week B: Sun, Weds, Thurs) that may require off-shift, weekend, and/or holiday work when applicable.

2027 Plant Closure Disclaimer

In March of 2025, Perrigo announced that the current operations at our facility in Milton, VT will be migrated to our plant in Eau Claire, WI at the estimated sunset date of July 2027. However, production operations will continue for approximately the next two years, so we want to make the remaining work experience with us as compelling as possible during that time!

Perrigo is committed to offering a highly competitive severance package for employees who see this project through to completion. At the time of the plant closure, if your tenure length is at least 12 months, you would be entitled to 52 weeks (one year’s worth) of base pay, bonus, and company-paid COBRA coverage for up to 1-year following your exit. For employees with less than 12 months’ tenure at the time of plant closure, they will receive 36 weeks (9 months) of base pay, bonus, and COBRA coverage. These severance offerings would be consistent with the terms of the Perrigo Company plc Severance Policy for U.S. Employees. From a new employee’s start date with Perrigo through their role completion, employment with Perrigo will remain as full-time, regular, benefits-eligible, and at-will employment classification.

Scope of the Role

Reports to the Supervisor, the Lead Packaging Operator will be responsible for supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives to drive continuous improvements to the packaging lines. This position is responsible for performing quality checks as outlined in job specific Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring daily housekeeping and safety activities are completed. This position will also be responsible for other required SOP and cGMP compliance, training, providing direction to employees to resolve packaging problems, and to work with various support functions (i.e. Quality, Validation, Maintenance, etc.).

• Consistently follows Good Manufacturing Practices while maintaining an efficient, effective, safe, clean, and organized work area. Identifies and recommends improvements to the process.
• Performs line maintenance tasks such as line changeovers, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment and makes necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance.
• Quality Checks: Performs necessary quality checks as directed by applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Documentation: Provides accurate and timely documentation of the packaging process as directed by applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and/or ODR.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required

High School diploma (or G.E.D.) required. Candidates must possess an excellent attendance and work record, have demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills and good communication skills including presentation skills. A strong ability to problem solve, multitask and motivate with minimal supervision. Other skills include multi-tasking, record keeping, using tools, and encouraging change. Counterbalance and walk-behind forklift license required. Trainer certification may be required in some areas.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous Packaging knowledge and training experience with the ability to work with control and monitor all areas within the Packaging Department with competence preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills are preferred.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft and SAP preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 55 lbs. is required.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs as well as work at elevated heights and various climates (both hot and cold).
• Stand for approximately 90% of a 12 hour shift.
• Incumbent will be exposed to noise and hot and cold temperatures.
• Willing and able to wear appropriate safety equipment to perform specific job duties per zoning requirements.
