Position Summary:

The audiovisual (AV) Onsite Project Engineer plays a critical role in delivering advanced technical support throughout the design, engineering, and implementation phases of communication technology projects. This position ensures the successful deployment and validation of AV/IT solutions, manages onsite installations, and supports ongoing managed services for clients. Success in this role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills, along with a commitment to professionalism and follow-through in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

 

Requirements: 

  • 3 years of experience in a project engineering or technical role with an audiovisual (AV) integration firm, 
    • Preferably with project management, system design, or installation leadership responsibilities.
  • Active technical certifications from leading AV manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Visio.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or minimum 4 years equivalent audiovisual (AV) experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in unified communications integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in installing and deploying Cisco Room Kit endpoints.
  • Experience working with hospital or hotel room entertainment systems is a plus.
  • Proven ability to oversee third-party vendors on communication technology installations.

  • Capable of providing regular status reports and updates to internal project teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to document clearly and concisely.

Preferred Certifications:

  • INFOCOMM | Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
  • CRESTRON | Digital Media Certified Engineer (DMC-E)
  • CRESTRON | Digital Media Certified Designer (DMC-D)
  • QSC | Q-SYS Level 1 Certification or higher
  • CSI | Construction Documentation Technologist (CDT)


Responsibilities

  • Test and validate the implementation of Audio/Video technologies.
  • Interpret and work from advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical components and non-audio/electrical infrastructure related to communication technologies.
  • Provide daily updates and track vendor installation progress.
  • Utilize design tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, and Bluebeam for system layout and documentation.
  • Reference and adhere to scope documents and product specification sheets throughout project phases.
  • Collaborate with general contractors, electrical contractors, architects, and low voltage installers.
  • Coordinate system testing, perform test analyses, generate reports, and make recommendations for upgrades or changes.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with networking protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, and Multicast (preferred).
  • Use Windows-based software including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project for documentation and scheduling.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project goals and client satisfaction
