Overview

Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer with mid-level development experience in the connector industry to join the ITT Cannon Connectors N.A. team.



Responsibilities

  • General engineering product setup, design and management
  • Engineering BOM creation, documentation creation and updates
  • Design of new components and assemblies
  • Manage and plan multiple activities related to Engineering, Product Management and Operational support for new product development
  • Multi-functional team member representing Product Engineering
  • Testing support and overview within a Product Evaluation Lab
  • Work closely with Field Application Engineering
  • Requires visibility to export controlled documents and information.


Qualifications



Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Electro-Mechanical product design, preferably in connectors
  • CREO Parametric 3D Modeling/Documentation experience
  • ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing, including GD&T
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Highly self-motivated and a willingness to make a difference
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different departments.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word etc...

Preferred

  • Experience in electrical connectors and the Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Experience in Filters, Fiber Optics, Micro-miniature and/or High Speed Data transfer a plus
  • Knowledge in the use of high-performance thermoplastics, aluminums and copper alloys and the manufacturing requirements needed to utilize them
  • Knowledge in MIL-DTL, Mil-STD and similar industry specifications and requirements.
  • Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.
  • Travel periodically up to 20%.
