Job Summary
The STEPS Smart Campus Facility Coordinator is a vital point of contact and operations lead for The Cornerstone, the University of Kentucky’s flagship innovation and esports facility.

Acting as both host and behind-the-scenes orchestrator, the Coordinator ensures a welcoming, safe, and efficient experience for all guests—from student groups and birthday parties to community programs and campus partners.

In addition to coordinating daily operations, the Facility Coordinator plays a hands-on role in staff administration, assisting with hiring, leading training sessions, organizing staff meetings or retreats, and providing day-to-day oversight of student and part-time employees.

This includes:
  • Scheduling
  • Performance support
  • Ensuring that team members are prepared to deliver exceptional service during events and open hours.

The Coordinator works closely with event organizers to confirm room layouts, staffing schedules, and technical setups, while also working with the Smart Campus team to oversee the facility.

The Coordinator performs regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance or safety needs, cleanliness, and communicates updates to vendors and campus leadership, and oversees light procurement and expense tracking.

Most importantly, the role thrives on proactive, people-centered communication to create an environment that supports vibrant student engagement and cross-campus collaboration.

Ideal candidates will be service-oriented, detail-driven, and enthusiastic about supporting a dynamic facility at the heart of UK’s Smart Campus mission.
