Flexhead Welder
Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding operations on a variety of stainless steel components to stainless steel braided hose assemblies to produce high quality products while meeting departmental performance standards, customer specifications and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Work from blue prints and other drawings to properly execute job function by accurately measuring and laying out locations for welded components using various jigs.
Visually check parts in preparation for welding, cleaning weld area of oil, dirt, rust and burrs.
Weld materials together with speed and accuracy using techniques for TIG welding on stainless steel.
Observe problems arising during the welding process and accurately adjust speed and voltage to correct problem.
Check dimensions to ensure parts are within print dimensions.
Use various measuring devices to ensure work is to print specification including, but not limited to, coordinate measuring machine, machinist square, micrometers, verniers, thread and plug gauges.
Use crane, dollies and carts to obtain and return material to and from storage area and move completed job to next operation.
Store all tooling, fixtures and additional point-of-use items in an organized manner, in drawers, on work bench etc. with proper labels, color coding, floor marking or other identifying mechanism.
Maintain work area as well as machines, tools, and equipment to meet program requirements.
Perform all job functions in accordance with established operating procedures.
Identify and assist in remediation of any and all safety hazards in the work place.
May be regularly rotated to other job assignments to assist in meeting production schedules.
Perform other duties as directed by Team Leader/Supervisor.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Must have experience with TIG welding on stainless steel components.
Must have ability to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to use measuring equipment such as measuring tapes, verniers and calipers, and read gauges.
Must be able to read blueprints or other shop drawings.
Must have keen eyesight and strong hand-eye coordination.
Must be able to communicate in both verbal and written English
Must be able to concentrate for several hours at a time.
