Overview

This student worker will support several projects related to public health, including a collaborative effort to build simulation models of acute mental health systems to inform capacity investments to improve health outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

• Support PIs in developing and applying strategies for using large language models to identify information about patient flows for simulation modeling.
• Under direct supervision, conduct literature reviews related to systems science and behavioral health services and prepare summaries to support academic publications and grant proposals.
• Under direct supervision, create and maintain causal-loop diagrams and stock-and-flow diagrams using Kumu software.
• Support preparation of conference presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals.

• Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours)

Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):

• Computer knowledge, including experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Kumu visualization software, and large language models.
• Knowledge of systems science mapping and modeling, with the ability to create causal-loop diagrams and stock-and-flow diagrams.
• Ability to conduct literature reviews and write literature summaries to support grant proposals and academic publications.

• 1 year in research data collection and/or analysis
• High-level computer knowledge, including using large language models for text analysis.
