Overview

Lutron is seeking a talented Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Trade Compliance team located at Lutron's Annex office location in Center Valley, PA. In this role, you will tackle global business challenges by providing operational support to ensure compliance with import and export regulations for international shipments.

 

You will have the opportunity to work closely with internal and external clients including Lutron shipping and logistics teams, engineering, customer service, freight forwarders, and customs brokers on all trade-related matters.



Responsibilities

  • Determine and assign classification Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes based on Custom regulations and product information. 
  • Facilitate the clearance of shipments by resolving trade compliance issues, which includes classifying parts, creating part numbers, and updating relevant systems and records.  
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and focus on process compliance through coordinating with Customs brokers to ensure accuracy of import/export documentation.
  • Monitor and process commercial invoices through internal tools to facilitate accurate and timely declaration of imports. 
  • Create and manage Schedule B export numbers through cross-referencing HTS codes. 
  • Prepare and present daily and monthly trade performance metrics. 
  • Complete Free Trade Agreement qualifications and distribute to customs brokers. 
  • Assist in system testing and analysis of Global Classification and Free Trade tools, escalating bugs as appropriate. 
  • Train team members on daily import/export compliance tasks and best practices. 


Qualifications



  • Bachelors degree in supply chain, business or related field
  • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • Proficiency with MS Suite, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with reviewing HTS codes
