ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sanctions Compliance Analyst will apply detailed knowledge of professional methods to conduct sanctions checks, review and resolve search results, maintain databases, and escalate potential hits for further review while ensuring that client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.

  • Review and resolve search results, including referred searches that are performed by others in the Conflicts New Business and the Accounts Payable departments, and use judgment to distinguish true matches and false positives.
  • Performs sanctions checks on new and existing clients and third parties in conformance with the Firm's Sanctions Compliance Policy using Refinitiv World-Check software and other related applications
  • Escalate issues to the Firm’s General Counsel and National Security practice group as appropriate.
  • Monitor World-Check Alert updates to sanctions lists and review and escalate as appropriate for ultimate disposition.
  • Conduct factual research to ascertain the identity of names submitted via the Firm’s new matter intake, payments and other workflow systems.
  • Ensure the sanctions status of the Firm’s clients and third parties are accurately reflected in the World-Check Case Manager system.
  • Field sanctions queries and requests from Firm personnel at all levels and in all locations, escalating to the Firm’s National Security practice where necessary and responding where appropriate.
  • Participate in projects related to the development of and improvements to the Firm’s sanctions compliance process and training of Firm personnel.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations and demonstrate willingness to attend continuing education and certification programs to ensure the Firm is following industry standards and best-practices.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus.

  • Minimum two years of sanctions compliance experience in a law firm or financial institution required.

  • Experience with Refinitiv World-Check software required.

  • Familiarity with Intapp conflicts, Elite financial and ServiceNow workflow software is a plus.

  • Minimum two years of database research experience using Lexis/Nexis and other tools is a plus.

  • ACAMS Global Sanctions Specialist certification is a plus.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Windows-based software required.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications. New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $80k to $118k

Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Washington, D.C. salary range: $74k to $111k

Denver salary range: $69k to $103k
