Job Position Summary:

The CNC programmer is responsible for 3-5 axis mills, 2D, 3D, surface milling. Supporting the shop flood, documentation control, monitoring parts, and communicating with team members

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Offline CNC programming for 3-5 axis mills. 2D and 3D surface milling is
    required 
  • Offline CNC programming for Lathes 
  • Support shop floor setups and knowledge transfer 
  • Create documentation for the shop floor including tooling lists and setup
    sheets 
  • Document standard machining and CNC setup practices 
  • Design work-holding fixtures 
  • Translate CAD files  
  • Monitor and inspect parts throughout process. 
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment. 
  • Observe MCT quality and safety procedures. 
  • May provide training to other team members. 
  • Communicates and collaborates with team members in the sharing of
    information and solving technical issues  

Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education (GED)
     required.  
  • Demonstrated ability to program using CAD/CAM
    software, Vero SURFCAM or Autodesk Powermill experience is preferred  
  • The ability to read blueprints and execute shop
     math.  
  • Complete work in an accurate and timely manner.  
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.  
  • Proficient understanding of G-code  
  • Proficient understanding of Geometric Dimensioning
     and Tolerancing  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail  
  • Flexible, ability to work in a fast-pace team
     environment  
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential
     information  
  • Self-motivated and able to take responsibility  
  • Must read and write English 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree in a relevant field and/or other
     technical certification or equivalent experience.  
  • 2-5 years minimum experience in Robot CNC
     programming  
  • Ability to program mill-turn or live spindle lathes  
  • Proficiency with Vector mathematics  
  • Ability to edit and create CAM Post Processors
