Pitt's Kids Summer Camp Gym Staff
The PITT’s KIDS Summer Camp program provides instruction in aquatics, games, and sports instruction to children ages 5 to 16 years old.
Through this developmental program, children participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities with a focus on progressive skill instruction. The program uses all areas of Trees Hall including the rock wall and the Olympic-size swimming pool. We also use the small pool in the back of the Olympic pool. Pitt's Kids Fall Program is looking for energetic and creative students to design and implement fun physical activities for our youth participants. The Summer Camp Gym Staff will be responsible for facilitating a positive and engaging camp experience for children aged 6-15. Candidates will lead various activities including arts and crafts, sports, and group games, ensuring safety and supervision at all times. Counselors will foster a supportive environment, mentor campers, and promote teamwork and personal growth. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm for working with youth, and the ability to collaborate with other staff are essential. Previous experience in a camp or youth leadership role is preferred.
DATES: 6/23/25-7/31/25, 6-weeks Monday-Thursday 9AM-3:30PM. Option to work additional hours between pre-care 8AM-9AM and post-care 3:30PM-5:30PM.
Required Orientation: 6/16/24 & 6/17/25 9AM-1PM
PURPOSE OF JOB: To work directly with the children to effectively facilitate their participation, skill development, and enjoyment of the program. To develop, revise, and implement lesson plans. To model, demonstrate, and provide hands on guidance and instruction to the children in the activity and during transitional locations. To communicate needs and wants to staff. To provide a safe environment for the children. To represent the Pitt’s Kids well to families and children. To work with the Pitt’s Kids administrators in all essential levels of program planning and development in the vital administration of Pitt’s Kids program.

1. The Pennsylvania Child Protection Clearances prior to start (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal Background Check)
2. First Aid and CPR Preferred
3. High School diploma minimum
4. 1-2 years’ experience with physical instruction with children preferred
5. 1-2 years’ experience planning lessons for instruction with children preferred
