ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for general maintenance and repair of furnishings in the assigned Government Office Building.
Check facilities for equipment that needs attention such as lights, loose hardware, leaking faucets, etc.
Provide designated government employee with a daily report of work.
Always ensure safe shop operation, including maintaining required safety paperwork and using appropriate PPE.
Assist with boarding up broken windows and plunging clogged plumbing fixtures.
Conduct cleaning and housekeeping required in the performance of normal maintenance activities.
Unlock and secure buildings, especially over holiday periods.
Keep the Lead informed of work-related problems. Maintain logs and other records of actions taken.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
High school diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to do the following for a period: stoop, kneel, reach, lift, walk, weed whack, and sit.
Some climbing and balancing.
Position requires work outside up to 8 hrs. per day and exposure to inclement weather conditions or other work conditions by nature.
High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role requires work in a non-office setting, outdoor and industrial locations.
Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
We require wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
Must be able to be cleared for base or site access.
You must possess a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
You must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
Must be a legal U.S. Resident per contract.
Must be able to communicate clearly in the English Language per contract.
Must be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card.
