Hexagon is currently recruiting a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our global Public Safety software. The HxGn OnCall application suite of web-based solutions depends on the diligent efforts of our QA Engineer. The suite includes call-taking, dispatching, situational awareness, records management, mobile dispatch, mobile reporting and analytics. Experience or knowledge in the Public Safety domain, particularly in Records management, is highly valued.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prioritize, plan and coordinate QA testing activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and design effective test strategies.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Execute manual testing on various software applications to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionalities are not affected by new changes.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance product quality


Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or proven related technical discipline . Equivalent work experience may be accepted.


Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge or experience in manual software quality assurance testing
  • Experience in Public Safety Records Management
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Willingness to learn modern technologies and develop skills to enhance work performance


Desired Qualifications

  • Public Safety sector experience is highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of browser development tools
  • Experience in Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Applied knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL scripting
