Description:

Responsibilities

Basic Purpose
Prepares revenue and regulatory accounting information to support management decision making and ensure accurate and timely recording of Company revenues, preparation of regulatory statements, adjustments, analyses and supporting testimony in compliance with all regulatory regulations and requirements. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all assignments. Provides technical knowledge to support business partners throughout Company with a wide range of tasks and projects. Works under moderate supervision, with regular review of completed assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares reports, journal entries and reconciliations related to revenue, cash receipts and accounts receivable for the Company.
Investigates complicated and unusual fluctuations in the Company’s revenues as compared to prior actuals, budget and forecast.
Prepares various regulatory statements in support of rate requests including:
  • Regulatory adjustments to books and records of the Company,
  • Reconciliation of recorded, present and proposed revenues,
  • Provides testimony in general rate applications in support of regulatory statements and proforma adjustments.
Implements accounting and reporting changes as a result of regulatory orders and developments in all jurisdictions as they impact accounting issues. Ensures that the Company’s regulatory accounting records comply with all regulatory orders and decisions.
Ensures compliance with internal controls, identifies internal control deficiencies and proposes internal control improvements. Supports activities relating to internal and external audits.
Prepares historical accounting information and revenue data in support of pricing and economic analysis.
Increases productivity by automating processes and coordinating information requirements.
Communicates with all levels of management and other departments as necessary.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Bachelor's degree in accounting business, finance, or related field from an accredited school and 2 years of related experience.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 6 years of related work experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated technical knowledge of:
  • Finance, accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Utility industry and revenue recognition.
Skills such as:
  • Analytical, problem solving, planning, time management, verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, decision-making and interpersonal.
  • Demonstrated skills in interpreting accounting, financial and economic information.
  • Utilization of various modeling, analytical, accounting, monitoring, or reporting software.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and tasks concurrently.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external customers.
Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $78,500 (Min) to $92,300 (Mid); Up to 12% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
