Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our West Hartford, CT team.  The Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees and directs all activities related to manufacturing engineering to ensure products and processes are coordinated to meet cost efficiency, production and customer requirements. This is a hands-on, center stage role in Operations that offers career growth opportunities. 

Responsibilities

•Managing a staff of Manufacturing Engineers and the activities involved in developing optimal production processes and/or improvements including: plant layout, equipment selection, tooling management and standard work. 
•Work closely with High Performance Team (HPT) leader to execute identified manufacturing objective, projects, and tasks in a timely manner.  
•Set clear goals and expectations, manage priorities and have robust means to measure performance.
•Establish MFG ownership of products, processes, documentation, and technical support 
•Identifying and allocating manpower and resources to assure completion of established objectives within budgetary and scheduled guidelines while upholding high technical standards.
•Assisting in identifying and initiating technical projects and programs which lead to improved processes and products, reduced costs or increased output.
•Acting as the champion for cross-functional initiatives while working closely with Design, Production, Quality and Program Management teams.
•Implementing production improvements and working with the Engineering Team(s) to release designs that are suitable for production.
•Accountable for cost, variance, safety, productivity, and continuous improvements. 
•Providing technical expertise and leadership when developing and/or improving upon manufacturing processes. 

Qualifications

•Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering required; MBA strongly preferred
•7+ years of extensive manufacturing engineering experience.
•Must have previous experience in direct management.
•Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing a plus!
•Must have proven record of delivering improvements and results within a manufacturing environment. 
•Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is strongly desired; including experience in the use of Policy Deployment, Advanced Quality Management Techniques and other Lean/Six Sigma practices.
•MRP/ERP Systems including bill of materials (BOM) maintenance, engineering change orders, etc.
