Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors, emergencies, and/or crisis management requiring night(s), weekend(s), and holiday(s) response when necessary.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director for Facilities Management – Campus, the Custodial Services Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for custodial services across the University of Kentucky’s Lexington Campus and Medical Center. This role ensures that all assigned areas—including educational, research, and ambulatory facilities—are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing custodial goals, standards, and quality control programs
  • Managing training, procurement, and personnel for custodial operations
  • Establishing efficient work procedures, schedules, and service plans
  • Evaluating and testing new equipment, supplies, and cleaning methods
  • Overseeing supply purchasing and distribution
  • Conducting regular facility inspections to ensure quality and compliance
  • Responding to campus-wide custodial inquiries and operational needs
  • Coordinating support for special events, emergencies, and weather-related incidents
  • Collaborating on issues involving building systems (e.g., HVAC, fire safety, elevators)

This position plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
MS Windows/Office; SAP; DIMENSIONS

Broad and in-depth knowledge and proficiency in the field of commercial cleaning, safety, and sanitation.
