Job Purpose:

As Supplier Risk Manager, you will play a key role in how DHL manages supplier-related risks across the globe. You’ll lead efforts to design and oversee risk management processes using our global due diligence tool, SHIELD.

This role involves close collaboration with compliance, legal, and business unit teams, and acts as a key contact during supplier-related incidents or crises.

With growing global regulations around cybersecurity, ESG, and financial risk, your work will directly support DHL’s strategy to expand responsible supplier risk management across all areas of the business.

Your tasks:

  • Develop new risk assessment processes including approval requirements, align the requirements with functional expert departments (e.g. compliance) and document them for technical implementation
  • Advice executives (e.g. CFO of invoice receiving legal entity) on their options in dealing with identified risky suppliers
  • Design risk balanced scorecard KPIs for the use of the Procurement Leadership Team
  • Handle supplier facing reachout on behalf of Corporate Sourcing Manager to seek assurance of financial stability (e.g. C-level exchange on supplier financial statements)
  • Manage relationship to third party information vendors (e.g. financial risk, denied party sanction risk)
  • Coach and advise the offshore risk management team members in the use of the tool and on dealing with identified risky suppliers
  • Manage the internal customer relationship to SVP Business Unit Compliance Officers for whom Procurement SRM runs anti-corruption, business ethics and denied party sanction screening
  • Ensure engagement of stakeholders to conclude supplier due diligence processes in target time
  • Maintain performance statistics up to date and prepare business review meetings with internal business partners
  • Explain due diligence processes and the use of SHIELD towards suppliers and internal stakeholders

Your profile:

We’re looking for a confident, analytical professional with strong judgment and cross-functional thinking. To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, risk management, compliance, audit, or a related function
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, especially with senior stakeholders
  • Strong judgment and the ability to put complex risk topics into perspective
  • Comfortable working in large, international organizations and across different functions
  • Interest and ability to navigate IT-based workflows (e.g. risk platforms, reporting tools)
  • Solid skills in Excel and/or PowerBI to generate and present actionable insights
  • Fluent English; other languages are a plus

Nice to have:
Familiarity with specific supplier risk topics such as anti-corruption, sanctions, ESG, cyber risk, financial stability, or human rights.
