Position Overview:
As a Field Application Scientist II (FAS II) specializing in Imaging Mass Cytometry, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers and driving the growth of our imaging mass cytometry product line. This position involves a combination of customer support, training, collaboration with sales teams, and engagement in cutting-edge spatial biology research. The ideal candidate is passionate about science, customer-focused, and eager to work with innovative technologies in a dynamic and growing field.

Position Overview:

As a Field Application Scientist II (FAS II) specializing in Imaging Mass Cytometry, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers and driving the growth of our imaging mass cytometry product line. This position involves a combination of customer support, training, collaboration with sales teams, and engagement in cutting-edge spatial biology research. The ideal candidate is passionate about science, customer-focused, and eager to work with innovative technologies in a dynamic and growing field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support to current and prospective imaging customers through on-site and in-house training, email and phone inquiries, applications discussions, and troubleshooting to ensure customer success.

  • Assist customers in planning experiments and conducting data analysis to ensure successful outcomes with our imaging technology.

  • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers and Inside Sales teams to expand our imaging mass cytometry install base and drive consumable revenue to meet our annual sales operating plan by identifying customer needs and promoting the use of our products.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to experiments and instrumentation.

  • Stay current with the latest developments in spatial biology research and applications, continuously expanding your knowledge to support new applications.

  • Adapt quickly to new product launches and integrate new applications and instrumentation into your support repertoire.

  • Provide actionable feedback and insights from the field to Product Management, Marketing, and R&D teams, ensuring our products and services align with customer needs.

  • Deliver high-quality presentations and training sessions to customers and internal teams.

  • Maintain a customer-centric approach in all interactions, ensuring customer satisfaction while managing multiple support projects simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering).

  • Located in the Boston metro area

  • Proficient in imaging or spatial biology.

  • Demonstrated ability to transform research inquiries into practical insights through the analysis of imaging data.

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively in the context of scientific communications.

  • Willingness to travel 60%.

  • Experience in a customer-facing role or support position. Previous applications scientist or equivalent required for FAS II level, however less experience may be considered for FAS I position.

  • High level bioinformatics skills highly desirable.
