POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reports to and assists the Fabrication Section Supervisor by receiving, processing, and tracking fabrication project requirements through PCMS Work Requests (WR) and Change Orders (CO). Duties include scheduling and tasking of personnel, resolving personnel problems, administering disciplinary actions with coordination and approval from the Fabrication Section Supervisor, review and approval of employee timesheets, and maintaining compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The Fabrication Operations Supervisor generates work orders and assigns them to the proper shops and personnel utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Maintenance Connection. At the direction of the Fabrication Section Supervisor, the Fabrication Operations Supervisor will be responsible for generating, coordinating, planning, and overseeing the execution of work orders. In this role, the Fabrication Operations Supervisor will plan, coordinate and schedule resources for the efficient and responsive completion of fabrication projects. Additional responsibilities include generating and updating project support schedules and developing resource allocation plans. Provide written responses and estimates from government statements of work. The Supervisor will research and specify parts, supplies, equipment, and other materials to support fabrication projects. Write and submit purchase requisitions and provide detailed substantiation and sole-source justifications when needed. This role also collaborates with the Fabrication Section Supervisor in the cross-utilization of personnel to accomplish large scale tasks and perform resource deconfliction when multiple projects are occurring simultaneously. The Fabrication Operations Supervisor will provide daily project monitoring and tracking to ensure timely execution and completion of assigned fabrication projects. Assists Fabrication Section Supervisor with all reporting requirements and data calls. Document, complete and close work orders in CMMS, Maintenance Connection. Assist Fabrication Supervisor with all Safety, Security, Environmental, and Facility maintenance requirements. The Fabrication Operations Supervisor will also serve as a project leader on assigned PCMS Work Requests and Change Orders.
Associate’s degree in a mechanical engineering technology field or equivalent with a minimum of three years applicable experience. Alternatively, a total of six years’ progressive applicable experience working in a machine shop and/or performing a key fabrication trade/skill such as welding, sheet-metal work, etc. is also acceptable. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Two years of supervisory experience. A working knowledge of Mission Support Services (MSS) contract operations and support requirements as well as required reports and administrative functions to include purchasing, supply, timekeeping, etc. Familiarity with Southwest Range Services business system PCMS working modules; Purchase Request, Travel Request, Overtime Request, etc.
