Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a Field Manager for its Field Operations in the cherry, pear and apple growing regions of Oregon and Washington. This full-time role can be based in either Salem or The Dalles, Oregon. Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 per year; candidate will be paid based on their work experience and skills. This is a full-time, on-site position based in either The Dalles or Salem, Oregon, with up to 30% travel required. This position is eligible for PCP’s company vehicle program and requires a valid driver’s license.

 

The Field Manager oversees raw product acquisition in Oregon and Washington and plays a key role in executing Pacific Coast Producers' strategic goals. Reporting to the Vice President of Field Operations, this role works closely with Growers, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality raw product supply. The Field Manager leads grower relations, supports innovation and new variety development, and manages communication with Growers throughout the region.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the fulfillment of all raw product grower contracts, including membership, cash, mapping activities and purchasing agreements.
  • Design and develop short and long-term projects to support the goals and objectives of the strategic plan. Provides data and information for the plan as required.
  • Support and manage the development and necessary adjustment of the annual cherry forecast, including weekly and daily estimates during the harvest season to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Oversee raw product acquisition in Oregon and Washington as required by the strategic pack plan; communicate regularly with production to coordinate daily needs.
  • Supervise the raw product grading program.
  • Directly manage seasonal staff and assist the Vice President of Field Operations in assembling and supporting teams responsible for grower relations.
  • Develop strong industry and community relationships; represents PCP at Northwest fruit industry meetings and keep leadership informed of current trends and issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and represent PCP in a professional, ethical in all interactions with growers, employees, governmental agencies, customers, etc.
  • Manage environmental and safety compliance within scope of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Field Operations.

Qualified candidates must have the following experience, education, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field - or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least two years of experience in agriculture or logistics management.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible management experience with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Background in agricultural crop management is preferred; experience with tree fruit is a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for supporting and developing team members.
  • Excellent skills in communication, innovation, adaptability and developing interpersonal relationships.
  • Familiar with technology and proficient with MS Word & intermediate knowledge of Excel. 
  • This position deals with perishable raw products and will require working extended hours during the summer processing season. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the region as needed (up to 30%).
