Business Development Administrator

At Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, working together - to serve clients and each other - is what we're all about.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Administrator to support our revenue and reputation growth goals. This position works closely with Business Development Managers, firm attorneys, and government relations professionals to develop business with existing and prospective clients and implement practice marketing plans. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic, and someone who likes to contribute ideas that expand client development opportunities. You’re detail-oriented, committed to excellence, self-directed and have outstanding organizational skills. The role requires professionalism, flexibility and occasional business travel.

This is an exempt position, and the candidate may be located in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Washington, D.C., Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Tampa.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists business development managers with strategy, development, execution and follow-up related to client-facing programming, award programs and events.
  • Participates in intelligence gathering related to business planning, pitches, various campaigns proposals.
  • Collaborates on development of pitches and proposals in pursuit of new business.
  • Utilizes a variety of databases and tools to mine and analyze intelligence and information that informs business development strategy.
  • Leads the collection and mining of contact, experience, sales pipeline and other data relevant to executing and tracking effective business development strategy.
  • Understands the importance of analytics in developing a business development pipeline and lead generation.
  • Collaborates with business development, marketing, communications and graphics team members to draft business development campaigns, internal and external facing presentations and marketing material.
  • Actively communicates the status and priority updates of projects and task.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience with business development, marketing and/or communications for a professional services firm preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of professional work experience required. Law, accounting or consulting experience a plus.
  • Eagerness and intellectual curiosity regarding business, strategic communications and marketing efforts , and enthusiasm about pursuing revenue growth opportunities.
  • Comfortable learning and using database and research applications.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organization and communications skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing projects and tasks to meet timelines
  • Ability to make sound decisions and strategic recommendations based on inputs including; research and business analysis, client and attorney feedback, past presentations, RFP materials, eventetc.
