The main function of this position is overseeing and performing machining services including saw cutting, handling of pipe and other materials, sectioning, and other laboratory sample preparation and for testing.
Responsibilities
Responsible for pipe and materials handling upon receipt from the client.
Responsible to help support shipping/receiving by unloading or loading delivery trucks
Maintains equipment used in the laboratory and responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lab facility including, but not limited to, scheduling, equipment maintenance, managing supplies, and scheduling equipment calibration.
Participates in laboratory inspections providing operation of equipment during inspection.
Observes and consults with project managers to ensure specified techniques are used.
Perform work safely (wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures).
Assist the machinist with basic machining of test samples when time permits.
Represent company at industry conferences and committees as and when required.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in any discipline or Laboratory Technician based vocational school Certificate / Degree preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent GED
Must have a valid driver’s license.
