Job Description Summary

Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Manages and oversees the Student Center to include the overall operations of the facility, events and reservations, and the Jag Card student identification office.
- Provides professional development, guidance, leadership, strategic planning, program implementation, training, and assessment for the Student Center.
- Supervises, mentors, and evaluates the performance of Student Center staff ensuring effective leadership and performance.
- Ensures the Student Center offers a high level of customer service, student development, staff supervision, event management, and skilled and proactive technical support.
- Manages the annual operations budget for the Student Center, including the ID office.
- Oversees all financial operations related to the Student Center department to include daily deposits, payments, vendor invoices, and bill processing.
- Monitors and mitigates risks for both events and daily operations of the Student Center, staying up-to-date with all local, state, and federal safety codes, as well as university policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for all users of the facility.
- Oversees all event and reservation services for the Student Center, serving as one of the primary points of contact for all events held in the facility to include reservations, event planning, setup, audio-visual, technical, and customer service support.
- Maintains the reservation system Event Management Software (EMS) for the Student Center.
- Responsible for regularly assessing and refining the event reservation process for the Student Center.
- Communicates department and university policies to groups seeking to reserve space and serves as an event planning resource for campus.
- Recommends needed signage, renovations, and furniture upgrades for the facility to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs to include capital purchases.
- Negotiates, reviews, and executes contracts for the Student Center working collaboratively with the Budget Office, Risk Management, and General Counsel to include reviewing contracts with third-party vendors for events and operations, ensuring compliance with university policies, legal requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Oversees the assessment plan and policy updates for the Student Center.
- Serves as the chair for the Student Center Advisory Board, providing guidance and support.
- Acts as the designated safety and emergency response personnel for the Student Center building.
- Leads the digital media efforts for the Student Center to include managing all social media and website content, ensuring they are up-to-date, user friendly, and functional.
- Provides oversight for digital signage, radio, security cameras, and the access control system for the Student Center.
- Attends Student Center user events as needed.
- Represents the Student Center on university committees as assigned.
- Maintains active involvement in professional associations such as ACUI, NACCU, and NASPA to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Ensures departmental compliance with university policies and local, state, and federal laws.
- Partners with colleagues across the university to enhance the overall student experience, prioritizing student development and growth.
- Develops collaborative relationships with faculty and staff for the purposes of increasing student involvement, building community, and creating co-curricular student development opportunities.
- Performs all functions and responsibilities of a Campus Security Authority, as defined by the Clery Act.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as needed.
