Job Overview
This position will manage and support a wide range of IT infrastructure systems and services, including but not limited to servers, cloud platforms, database administration, virtualization, Disaster recovery, and data retention. This role will oversee a team of IT engineers and administrators, providing day-to-day direction, setting priorities, monitoring tasks and project progress, and ensuring the team has the resources needed to succeed. The Systems Manager will ensure systems and services are maintained according to industry best practices, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security. This position will work closely with other IT teams to ensure the smooth integration and operation of all infrastructure components. Additionally, the Systems Manager is expected to stay current with evolving technologies and recommend improvements to enhance the organization's IT environment.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure systems, including design, deployment, and troubleshooting of hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing or supervising technical IT teams.
Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, ITIL Foundation).
Strong track record of successfully managing IT infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades.
Deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD.
Solid experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V.
Experience with hybrid cloud management, including integration between on-prem systems and Azure or AWS cloud services.
Hands-on experience with Exchange Online (M365) and legacy Exchange server support.
Strong understanding of enterprise storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage (e.g., Azure Files, AWS S3).
Proficiency with modern monitoring and management tools, such as Azure Monitor, Solar Winds, PRTG, and Endpoint Manager (Intune/SCCM).
Solid understanding of relational database platforms, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions (e.g., Veeam, Azure Site Recovery).
Working knowledge of security best practices (IAM, patching, MFA, endpoint protection, etc.) within infrastructure environments.
Automation skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python are highly desirable.
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts using tools like Terraform or ARM templates is a plus.
