SUMMARY

Process orders for parts received by mail, telephone or personally from customer or company employee.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Provide quotes to our customers in a timely manner.
  2. Liaison with Production Control to ensure shipments goes out on time.
  3. Accuracy of order entry and completion of documentation and correspondence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edits orders received for price and nomenclature.
  • Uses all resources available to ensure the customer receives the proper parts for their equipment.
  • Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
  • Enters data into computer to determine total cost anticipated delivery for customer.
  • Records or files copy of orders received according to customer name.
  • Checks inventory and requests price on orders that are not in stock.
  • Computes price, discount, sales representative's commission, and shipping charges.
  • Receives and resolves customer complaints.
  • Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Handles request for replacing defective parts, following the Return Material Authorization process and warranty orders as needed.
  • Attempts to sell additional merchandise to customer.
  • Functions in workplace of dignity and respect for all.
  • Functions as a team member and to get along with others.
  • Honors EEO guidelines and principles.
  • Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as directed, assigned or necessary to accomplish the department's objective in an effective manner.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
  • Follows all safe work practices, watches out for fellow workers, and keeps their work area clean.
  • Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.
  • The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers' facilities:
  1. Company approved safety glasses or goggles
  2. Company approved steel ESD toe shoes.
  3. Appropriate hand protection.
  4. Ear protection in designated areas.
  5. Appropriate clothing.
  6. Other safety equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three months related experience.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to understand mechanical concepts.
  • COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Visual Manufacturing Software, AutoCAD, and the Internet.
  • EQUIPMENT: Computer and other general office equipment.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.
