Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama’s Dean-University Library is seeking to hire a Systems Manager, University Libraries. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the administration, configuration, and technical support of the libraries’ integrated library system. discovery platforms and website.
- Administers, troubleshoots, and coordinates the integrated library system (Voyager), discovery interface (EBSCO), proxy server (EZProxy), interlibrary loan system (ILLiad), and related platforms and applications, and coordinates reliable and efficient access to the libraries’ collections and resources.
- Responsible for the analysis, planning, development, integration, implementation, testing, documentation and technical support of library technology systems.
- Provides ongoing management of systems that support digitization, digital collection storage and presentation, scholarly publishing, as well as web applications and sites maintained by the University Libraries.
- Coordinates implementation and configuration of new hardware, software, and equipment, facilitating accessibility reviews, system demonstrations, systems and usability testing, and assessment of hardware, software, and network performance.
- Organizes and implements training for library employees on new and existing library systems and technologies.
- Participates in planning and coordinating the work of the Systems unit, collaborates with Systems personnel, and with other library faculty and staff in the integration of and support for library systems applications.
- Develops, plans, and coordinates regular usability testing of the library website and systems to enhance the user experience.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
