HunaTek is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to join our team, leading a highly visible and strategic program. This is position is contingent upon the award of the contract to HunaTek, currently estimated to commence August 1, 2025. As a Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage a Department of Defense Fellowship Program that serves as a means of increasing the number of United States (U.S.) citizens receiving doctoral degrees in science and engineering (S&E) disciplines of military importance.
Essential Job Functions
The Program Manager is the designated liaison with the Government Contracting Officer Representative managing, coordinating, and ensuring proper and timely execution of program requirements. This position is responsible for leading a team supporting the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Program’s requirements that include: Attraction of applicants (outreach and promotion); Attraction and Recruitment of selection panel experts; Management of Selection Panels; Evaluation of Applicants; Placement and Management of Fellows; Recruitment of DoD mentors; Management of the NDSEG Mentoring Program.
- Responsible for overall performance and quality compliance as stated by the client and contract agreements.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining management control systems necessary to plan, organize, direct, and control all activities under this requirement.
- Responsible for maintaining communication with the CO and COR, immediately notifying them of any issues that may affect the execution of tasks or have an adverse impact to the program.
- Design and maintain the project and quality plans, alignment of resources, management to deliverable deadlines, and contract management to maintain cost control, schedule, and quality of all financial and resource services.
- Approves project budgets and expenditures, final reports, and coordinates any and all project notifications.
- Establishes and maintains clear channels of communication with Contracting Officer Representative by providing status reports, risk and corrective action plans, etc.
- Provides programmatic support to customer, including administrative coordination and management of timelines.
- Collaborate with customer and partners to resolve issues, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with program delivery.
- Conduct interviews to fully staff the contract to meet program requirements, and fulfill the Fellowship participation objectives of the Air Force.
- Manage and supervise staff, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve program objectives and ensure adherence to all company policies.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- US Citizenship.
- Seven (7) years’ experience working with fellowship programs.
- Five (5) years experience working with DOD organizations.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present briefs and interact with senior leaders/stakeholders.
- Expertise in the principles and practices of program management.
- Expertise in leading and managing other employees.
- High level of proficiency of Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel and SharePoint.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific or Engineering discipline
