Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Maintains responsibility for various accounting funds.
- Provides financial information to their supervisor and others to ensure that monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports are issued on a timely basis.
- Manages overall reconciliation of the GASB 87 and GASB 96 accounting functions.
- Reviews all contracts that come through the agreement review system to see if they fall under GASB 87 or 96.
- Reconciles cash payments monthly in Banner to lease accounting software UGAAP.
- Keeps a tracking sheet of contracts pending signature/other pending needs.
- Reviews all pending items at month end to check on the status.
- Keys completed contracts into UGAAP.
- Reviews requisitions that are potentially GASB 87 or 96 and confirms the appropriate account code is used and that the related contract is accounted for in UGAAP if 87/96.
- Reviews the ledger monthly for expense codes that potentially have uncaptured 87/96 payments in them.
- Reconciles UGAAP journal entry payments to Banner vendor payments on a monthly basis.
- Prepares the month end GASB 87/96 entries from UGAAP.
- Approves certain payment requisitions and direct pay requests for the Assistant Controller.
- Reviews financial statement schedules for accuracy.
- Ensures that assigned accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Assists all accountants and departments as needed.
- Prepares schedules for external auditors.
- Assists the Assistant Controller with special projects and initiatives as they arise.
- Uses the calculator and personal computer in all of the above duties.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
