General Description

Responsible for performing loan testing on loans selected for review from the residential mortgage business. Responsible for correctly identifying and properly documenting exceptions related to federal, local, investor, insurer and internal policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates loan documents to federal, local, investor, insurer, and other guidelines to determine compliance.
  • Correctly identifies and documents loan level exceptions.
  • Reviews result with Manager and/or Senior Risk Reviews & Audit Officers to determine whether additional research is required to ensure accurate reporting of findings.
  • Participates in federal, local, investor, insurer, and other training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Always maintains the Manager and Senior Risk Reviews & Audit Officers abreast of developments related to the review process.
  • Assists in special projects as defined by Management and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree completed in Business Administration: Accounting or related field.

Experience

Minimum 2-3 years of mortgage banking and/or audit experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Proficient in both Spanish and English, including conversational and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA experience preferred with an understanding of quality control requirements.
  • Knowledge of MSP (Black Knight) and related mortgage servicing systems.
  • Knowledge of Encompass and related mortgage origination systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation.
  • Good organizational skills with diligence.
  • Willingness to learn and enhance skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and perform in a challenging environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Professional and cheerful outlook with a willingness to adapt to change.
