Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead a team of engineers and technicians in supporting both new and legacy product manufacturing. This role is critical in driving technical problem-solving, process optimization, and strategic alignment with company goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
This role partners cross-functionally with Lean/CI, Product Development, Quality, and Facilities teams to build scalable and sustainable manufacturing capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineering Leadership

• Lead all manufacturing engineering activities to support operational goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Utilize Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies to enhance throughput, reduce defects, and improve product quality and reliability.
• Benchmark and implement best-in-class manufacturing and assembly practices to improve cycle times and reduce costs.
• Own and manage documentation for item routings, work instructions, and process flows.

Capital & Footprint Strategy

• Support the development and execution of capital expenditure plans aligned with business needs.
• Manage capital projects within budget and timeline constraints.
• Contribute to product movement and site optimization initiatives as part of the company's broader footprint strategy.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles are applied during NPI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into manufacturing.

Team Development & Technical Excellence

• Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Drive structured problem-solving approaches (e.g., A3PS, value engineering, variance reduction).
• Foster technical and professional growth to build long-term team capability.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or Technical Management (master's preferred).
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering or operations; high-mix, low-volume manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing or leading technical teams.
• Strong background in manual and automated assembly processes for electro-mechanical products.
• Proven application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Fluent in SolidWorks, PDM, ERP systems, and BI tools.
• Excellent project management and prioritization skills in dynamic environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop technical teams in a continuous improvement culture.

Work Conditions:

  • Work in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some areas are narrow and difficult to maneuver.
