The Marine Field Service Engineer (FSE) plans and executes, with minimal professional guidance, complex technical field assignments involving the installation, modification, test, inspection or repair of company products and equipment. The FSE may also coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting customer commitments. Since the FSE is often the one who interacts with the customers operations people, they may also recommend measures to improve operations and customer service.

Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Work independently to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect company products and equipment including, but not limited to: low voltage and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and rotating machinery.
- Perform or coordinate complex and diverse engineering activities associated with field projects.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics and makes changes as necessary in the field to reflect work carried out on site.
- Assist the business development unit with technical knowledge for generating quotations and proposals.

The work model for the role is: remote, but does require heavy travel. This role is contributing to the Process Automation, Marine and Ports group in Houston, TX or Miramar, FL.

Qualifications for the role
- Three or more years' experience in marine power generation and power distribution with a focus on circuit breaker and switchgear maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of protection relays and excitation.
- Associates Degree in engineering or other technical field.
- Alternately a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
