Business Development Research Analyst

We are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual to fill the role of a Research Analyst on our Applied Mission Solutions Business Development team. In this role, you will contribute to the steady growth of our business unit by identifying and qualifying new opportunities, organizing growth meetings, and supporting the development of proposals. You will work closely with our Director of Growth and our entire corporate business development team. You will be empowered to use AI-driven data analysis and market research to make informed decisions that drive results. While the role requires a strong sense of ownership and initiative, you’ll also benefit from a collaborative environment that values professional growth and teamwork. You will work closely with our Director of Growth, our Solutions Architects, and Proposal team to ensure we meet our strategic goal to 10X our revenue. Market Research & Opportunity Identification
Perform detailed research to identify and qualify business opportunities across strategic markets.
Discover information that will be used to prepare price-to-win strategies.
Compile and present insights on market trends, customer intent, and competitive landscapes to support decision-making processes.
AI-Enhanced Business Intelligence & Proposal Development
Utilize AI tools to add depth to market research and support proposal preparation.
Assist in refining proposals to ensure they meet current market demands and compliance standards.
Pipeline Management & Growth Execution
Maintain daily updates on the growth pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and clear communication of next steps.
Translate complex data sets into actionable reports that guide strategic decisions.
Leadership in Growth Meetings & Collaborative Strategy
Organize and support growth meetings, ensuring that discussions lead to clear, actionable plans.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that ideas are refined and executed effectively.
Networking & Business Representation
Engage with stakeholders and attend industry events to build strong relationships and expand business opportunities.
Support talent acquisition efforts related to current projects and proposal initiatives.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays occasionally when required to meet urgent business needs.
Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and collaboration.
Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree is preferred but experience may substitute for education.
Research & Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough market research and analyze business data.
Communication & Teamwork: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to clearly present ideas and collaborate with colleagues.
Technology Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Planner) for data organization and basic collaboration.
AI & Data Management: Openness to learning and using AI tools to support research and proposal development.
Pipeline & CRM Familiarity: Basic knowledge or willingness to learn about platforms like Salesforce, GovWin, or other similar tools.
Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Industry Experience: Previous exposure to business development, government contracting, or defense sectors.
AI Tools & Market Analysis: Experience applying AI-driven market research and data analytics in previous roles.
Leadership Potential: Prior experience in leading meetings or coordinating team efforts.
Security Clearance: Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Advanced CRM & Business Intelligence: Familiarity with Salesforce, DACIS, or comparable pipeline management tools.
Hybrid Work Option: In-office reporting is required during the initial probationary period, with the opportunity for a hybrid arrangement upon successful integration.
Travel: Limited travel (up to 10% within the continental U.S.) for events and business meetings as needed.
