Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities the custodian performs general cleaning duties on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis, including disinfecting restrooms, kitchen areas, trash collection, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, replenishing supplies at designated MFS sites. This position works afternoon/evening hours Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
Sweeps, mops, scrubs and/or vacuums floors
Shampoo or steam-cleans carpets and rugs
Trash removal
Scrubs, sanitizes, and maintains restroom supplies
Dust and cleans furniture, walls, fixtures, and equipment
Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions
Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions
Follows procedure for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies
Drives agency vehicles required to perform job functions/travel to cleaning areas
Notifies Director of Facilities regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Attends all available training offered to continue education through MFS and outside agencies.
Other duties as assigned.

Able to be flexible and address unexpected custodial requests at moment's notice
Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift heavy objects (no more than 50lbs), climb ladders and work at heights
Ability to work alone and/or part of a team
