Power BI Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer to lead the development and support of business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across our enterprise. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Power BI, data modeling, and enterprise data integration, with proven experience in working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Snowflake, DB2, and Microsoft Fabric. This individual will be responsible for designing scalable and insightful reporting solutions, partnering closely with business and IT stakeholders to transform complex data into meaningful visualizations.
How You Will Help
Power BI Dashboard Design & Development Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that visualize key performance indicators across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and other business functions.
Develop drill-down, drill-through, and cross-filtering capabilities.
Implement bookmarks, slicers, tooltips, and visual cues for enhanced user interactivity.
Data Modeling & Transformation
Create optimized data models using star and snowflake schema designs to support efficient report performance and ease of analysis.
Build and manage Power BI datasets that support self-service analytics and governed reporting.
Utilize Power Query (M) for data ingestion and transformation across diverse data sources.
Advanced DAX Development
Write and manage complex DAX expressions to create calculated columns, measures, KPIs, time intelligence, and advanced logic for multi-dimensional reporting needs.
Enterprise Data Integration
Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems including: Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O/CE (via OData, Azure Data Lake, or Synapse), Snowflake (cloud data warehouse), IBM DB2 (legacy relational systems), Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Direct Lake, Lakehouse environments), Flat files, APIs, Azure SQL, and other relational sources
Report Performance Optimization
Apply performance tuning techniques to ensure efficient rendering and refresh of large datasets.
Implement incremental data refresh, query folding, and optimization of visuals and DAX calculations.
Deployment, Governance & Lifecycle Management
Design and manage Power BI workspaces, implement dataset certification, and oversee report version control and deployment pipelines.
Configure and manage row-level security (RLS) for secure data access by user role or business unit.
Legacy Reporting & Migration Support
Support existing SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports and lead the transition of legacy reporting to Power BI as part of modernization efforts.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Support
Partner with analysts, business process owners, and department leaders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and visual design.
Provide training, support, and documentation for business users to promote self-service BI adoption.
Respond to ad-hoc data requests, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for reporting improvements.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience designing and deploying Power BI solutions in a medium to large enterprise environment.
Proficient in:
Power BI Desktop & Service
DAX and Power Query (M)
Data modeling best practices
DirectQuery, Import Mode, and composite models
ANSI SQL, TSQL, and variations
Demonstrated experience integrating and transforming data from:
Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O or CE)
Snowflake
DB2
Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud data platforms
Experience implementing row-level security, certified datasets, and workspace management.
Ability to troubleshoot performance issues, optimize queries, and design user-friendly visuals.
Strong communication skills and experience working with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or other cloud ETL/ELT tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines in Power BI environments.
Background working with finance, supply chain, or operational data in an enterprise ERP context.
Experience leading or mentoring junior developers or business analysts in BI best practices.
Power BI certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) is a plus.
Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps is a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI Co-pilot is a plus.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 USD annually*.
