Job Title: Senior Risk Analyst

Division: Enterprise Data & Analytics

Job Summary: The Senior Risk Analyst is responsible for overseeing regulatory and general controls for the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) Division, acting as the main liaison for auditors, and ensuring timely escalation and resolution of gaps. This role involves strategic thinking, problem-solving, and interaction with various divisions within the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee Regulatory IT General Controls
  • Discuss new gaps resulting from management self-identification, day-to-day operations, audits, and other assessments.
  • Establish action plans with ED&A Managers, reach agreements within teams, lead status meetings, and ensure timely escalation and resolution of gaps.
  • Review narratives and send issues for closure.
  • Maintain metrics for the division and report status to direct Manager, ED&A Division Manager, and collaborate with IT, Financial & Operational Risk Division, and Cyber.
  • Lead Liaison for Auditors
    • Act as the main liaison with external auditors for SOX/ITGC audit.
    • Evaluate requests for information, understand ED&A Division operations, and clarify information to auditors.
    • Have knowledge about overall ITGC controls, allowing understanding of end-to-end processes involving other areas of the bank and identify mitigating controls.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strategic thinking to evaluate the impact of topics across the ED&A Division and other divisions of the bank.
    • Ability to lead meetings, coordinate efforts, provide guidance, and reach agreements with parties involved.

    Interactions:

    • Interact with all ED&A Division teams, SOX Compliance, Cyber Security Division, IT, Financial & Operational Risk Division, Cyber Risk & Assurance Team, IT Assurance, among other divisions within the bank.
    • Mainly interact directly with Managers I & II and Senior Managers.

    Decision-Making:

    • Discuss new gaps and assess the impact on the team and overall division, sometimes involving other divisions of the bank.

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or Information Systems.
    • A master’s degree (MBA, MS in Risk Management, or Data Analytics) could be preferred or beneficial but not necessarily required.

    Experience Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in risk management, audit, regulatory compliance, or general IT controls within financial services or banking.
    • Experience working with SOX/ITGC audits, regulatory compliance frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.
    • Hands-on experience with data governance, cybersecurity controls, and financial risk analytics would be valuable.
