Description:
This position is responsible for the engineering and maintenance of product pattern and related tooling as well as providing manufacturing support to the Investcast product line, which includes air investment casting, vacuum investment casting and metal additive manufacturing. This position will require interaction with engineering, quality and production departments as well as direct communication with vendors and customers.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
• Manage new part tooling needs and requests for investment cast tool fabrication & tool modifications. Responsible for tool build schedule and validation for customers in the defense, aerospace, commercial, energy and petrochemical industries.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, and Sales as well as tooling vendors to coordinate the design and successful release to production of investment cast tooling to achieve part quality, shop productivity, and budgetary objectives.
· Coordinate tooling maintenance and improvement activities. Responsible for tooling revision levels for both the part model and tooling via the tool database.
· Monitor tooling performance, Identify and execute corrective actions for tooling operational issues or improvement opportunities, then verify the effectiveness using quantitative and statistical tools.
· Directly support production needs for tooling maintenance including diagnosis, replacement of wear items and in-house modification to insure functionality.
· Subject Matter Expert for dimensional inspection. This includes development of inspection plans, maintaining calibration requirements and programming inspection equipment such as the CMM and Laser Scanner.
· Engineering and support activities as required to support continuous improvement and improved plant profitability.

Requirements:The candidate should have a minimum of 4 years' experience in tooling design, maintenance or production. A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent) or an Associate's Degree in Tool Design is desired. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferable) and Microsoft Office software. Experience with the investment casting process, GD&T, casting simulation & modelling desirable. Strong organizational skills. Enjoys getting their hands dirty. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
