Position Summary:
The Associate Athletic Trainer will be supervised by the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine for all matters pertaining to Henderson State University Athletics.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organization and administration of athletic training room procedures - injuries - rehabilitation - and doctor's referrals for all athletes, and documentation thereof, per Henderson State University policy, NCAA guidelines, and NATA guidelines.
- Maintain a professional clean atmosphere concerning self, facilities, and students.
- Coordinate, document and report (to the Athletic Insurance Coordinator) all activities concerning medical care as relates to team physicians and surgeons, including but not limited to: physical exams, game coverage, on-site clinicals, appointment scheduling, rehabilitation protocols, and therapeutic modality usage.
- Work in cooperation with the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine providing information with adequate documentation concerning all injuries and illnesses respectively.
- Keep all coaches, and concerned parties informed of player status of injuries and rehabilitation.
- Organize and provide treatment for all injured athletes and have a schedule posted for athletic training room use.
- Offer a mechanism of counseling to injured athletes regarding their injuries and/or drug problems as needed, as in accordance with university policy.Supervise athletic training student workers for Henderson State University sport coverage of practice and games, and inform each head coach of necessary information pertaining to sport coverage.
- Be in attendance or available for all home game coverage dependent upon risk factor of the particular sport, and some travel is required for away game coverage. However, must be in attendance of all conference home competitions as per GAC guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications: In pursuit of this commitment, NATA certification, eligibility for Arkansas Athletic Training licensure and a master's degree are required.
The successful applicant must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that is acceptable to the university and be able to lift 30lbs unaided.
