General Description

The System Administrator is responsible for successfully conducting all aspects of the assigned initiatives and projects related to the application under their charge to ensure that all goals or objectives are achieved within the specified deadline and performance parameters—funding and under the BPPR Information Security policy.

Manage the systems to ensure their functioning and operation meet the requirements of Popular's business units. Understand business needs, translate needs into technical requirements, coordinate changes with the programming group, and perform testing and functional certification of changes according to the requested specifications. Perform preventive monitoring and diagnosis of production incidents and modify application parameters as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret business user needs to programming, providing clear and precise solutions.
  • Coordinate meetings with the different divisions and departments to identify and analyze business requirements and document them to create programming instructions.
  • Support audit and compliance processes.
  • Support the corporation's strategic projects.
  • Management of Release Management of the application (define requirements, coordination, test validation, certification, compilation of documentation related to the installed changes)
  • Analysis, investigation, and recording of incidents and situations.
  • Maintain up-to-date application documentation.
  • Analyze processes and look for operational improvements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology.
  • Manage, analyze, and configure system parameters and monitor and execute system runs as warranted.
  • Analyze and review proposals Evertec or another supplier sent, provide recommendations, and discuss with unit Management.
  • Compare the cost estimate of the initiatives against the accounting entries made in the GL account.
  • Prepare monthly or as-required reports on the Progress of the Projects involved and Initiatives to improve the application to Management.
  • Provide daily follow-up to the different suppliers on service "tickets", pending requests in programming, as well as tasks, incidents, and projects in progress according to established priorities.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or information systems or computer science

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of CIS, AMMO, and WEB AMMO applications.
