Overview

The nurse in this position will provide comprehensive care to pediatric endocrinology patients in an ambulatory setting, including scheduling and conducting testing for growth hormone/ACTH/leuprolide stimulation for both day patient and outpatient setting as well as for GH/Lupron/Solu-Cortef/testosterone injection training with patients and families. The RN also will also work collaboratively with managed care to identify the most cost-effective growth hormone prescriptions for patients and their families and working with drug representatives to determine applicable financial assistance. In addition, the nurse will coordinate multi-discipline care plans for patients as needed as well as be responsible to coordinate the endocrine sub-specialty clinics (i.e. Turner Clinic, Gender Clinic, Thyroid Nodule Clinic, Bone Health Clinic).



Responsibilities

  • BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
  • ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
  • Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
  • BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • BLS must not expire during orientation
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license
  •  Current unencumbered Washington RN license
  • Minimum two years of pediatric nursing experience
  • Minimum one year of adolescent health nursing experience
