Job Purpose:
The Regional Office Manager will be responsible for leading the people and processes of an Engineering office. They will work and lead multi-disciplined project teams to create industry leading designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including transmission & distribution, generation, institutional, industrial, and manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and project schedules for project proposals.
Support or review the execution of engineering activities such as:
Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material
Protection and control design including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring and relay panel wiring
Calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
Review equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
Identify key target clients and collaborate with the commercial organization on a focused sales approach strategy.
Champion strong Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) culture both on project sites and in the office.
Help recruit and retain key project staff.
Lead multiple teams– define an organization and work with senior leadership to build a multidisciplinary team to deliver Engineering, EPC/Turnkey, and Program Management services to target clients.
Implement project execution quality and financial controls.
Identify, develop and direct the profitable implementation of business strategies for the business, including operational and procedural, marketing, proposal, and sales and customer retention strategies.
Plan, coordinate, communicate and facilitate activities of several disciplines on projects of all sizes from conception through completion. Successful completion of projects by collaborating and coordinating with internal and external clients.
Initiate or assist in contract negotiations.
Adhere to EPS Quality Manual
Assemble a team that will do the following in support of growing the organization:
Create and cultivate key relationships within target client organizations.
Support the develop of a client service plan which includes a vertical relationship plan for the target client organizations.
Facilitate strategy development to pre-sell projects before RFP release.
Lead contract and negotiations process for select projects after selection.
Develop relationships with key trade partners and subcontractors.
This position is responsible for the revenue and EBITDA goals.
Serve as Project Manager or Engineer of Record for specific projects and/or customers.
Develop business plans for improvements related to processes, business growth and/or technology implementations.
Develop and provide training to less experienced engineers and team members
Perform quality reviews for other electrical engineers
Perform employee performance reviews
Participate in industry events or professional technical committees
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
Minimum 10 years related experience
PE or PMP required
Proficiency with National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standard
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures and criteria
Successful completion of the EPS Quality Manual Training Program
Up to 10% travel required
