The AI/ML Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing support for the Bank’s Artificial Intelligence assets with a primary goal of delivering secure, reliable and accurate machine learning solutions.
Essential Functions

Design, build and implement machine learning models and algorithms.
Implement and optimize AI and ML solutions.
Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers and software engineers to integrate models into production systems.
Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights.
Tune and improve model performance and accuracy.
Document and maintain AI/ML models, experiments, and processes.
Work closely with Information Security team to ensure compliance with related policies and regulatory requirements.
Other Duties
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and ML technologies.
Complies with all policies and procedures as applied to the Bank's BSA/AML policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
Experience with ML frameworks and libraries.
Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
Familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud, Google Big Query).
Knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
Ability to use large data sets to research, develop and generate algorithms that can learn and assess, analyze, and organize data, execute tests, and optimize the learning process to help develop high performance ML models.
Ability to learn and become proficient with a variety of software applications and data sources.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to multitask, think creatively and employ an enterprise-wide perspective.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This job routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction print/copy/scan devices. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Travel
Travel may be required for this position.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent additional related experience. Master’s degree a plus.
3+ years of experience in AI/ML model development required, preferably in the financial services or banking industry.
Proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models in real-world applications.
Understanding of banking operations, including credit scoring, fraud detection, or customer relationship management, is highly desirable.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer) are a plus.
Experience with natural language processing (NLP) for chatbots or customer service automation preferred.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the banking sector preferred.
Knowledge of DevOps practices for deploying and maintaining AI/ML models in production preferred.
