Summary: Responsible for coordinating, managing the materials, and maintaining inventory levels for packaging material at the plant. Inputting and racking raw material deliveries and invoices. Responsible for coordinating the delivery of cores.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Create batch tickets for rail car deliveries.
Managing inventory levels for raw materials and packaging.
Places orders with the outside warehouses for items that are needed, such as boxes, cores, slip sheets, chocks, bags, and stretch film.
Assists with cycle counts of pack items stored at outside warehouses.
Files packing slips for vendors.
Responsible for gathering paperwork from outside warehouse from receipts.
Verify that the delivery matches the packing slip/invoice.
Check for damaged or missing items.
Report discrepancies to supervisor or vendors.
Label products or identification and storage.
Move received goods to the appropriate storage areas.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the receiving area.
Complete logs and forms for tracking inventory.
Daily/Weekly Duties
Collect all receivers at the start of shift as needed in the afternoon.
Conduct floor counts for packaging, cores, chemicals, and pack items based on current production schedules.
Pull current SAP schedules to determine running operations and packing requirements.
Send updated core orders to core suppliers as needed.
Performs pallet counts and order packaging from vendors (e.g., Vonore, Hicks).
Receive Material
-Bulk/tote/drum raw materials for Furnace and Mat
-Packaging materials
File and organize all receiving paperwork and documents.
File and receive pack items delivered to the outside warehouse.
Pull railcar waybills and receive railcars from CSX.
Conduct core counts weekly and manage floor movement as needed.
Review and sticker all chemicals approved by quality control.
Code and process freight bills (FedEx, UPS, Southeastern, etc.) and send to AP.
Handle and distribute mailbox contents accordingly.
Receive materials from external vendors and coordinate with outside warehouse receivers.
Respond to accounts payable inquiries and file incoming bin/tub loads.
Resolve invoice discrepancies with purchasing agent.
Participate in weekly Furnace and Mat scheduling meetings.
Act as liaison between leadership and receiving team to resolve any issues.
Guide material handlers on placement of inbound chemicals and packaging.
Other duties include
Helping with yearly inventory at home plant as well as outside warehouses.
This position is expected to coordinate with the Purchasing Agent to ensure work is done in a seamless fashion.
May be required to perform other related duties assigned.

-Ensure accuracy in receiving documentation, inventory, counts, and freight bill coding.
-Verifies incoming shipments match purchase orders and quality standards.

-Manages multiple daily and weekly tasks such as floor counts, filing, ordering, and team meetings.
-Prioritize urgent tasks such as chemical approvals, invoice discrepancies, and vendor communications.
Organization & Record-Keeping
-Maintains organized files for all receiving documents and shipment records.
-Keep accurate inventory spreadsheets and ensures paperwork is submitted and filed promptly.
Communication Skills
-Communicates effectively with internal departments (AP, QC, Scheduling, leadership) and external vendors.
-Attends meetings and clearly conveys updates or issues affecting materials or production.
Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking
-Investigates discrepancies in invoices, receiving reports, and inventory counts.
-Resolves vendor issues and escalates problems when needed to ensure continuous operations.
Inventory Management
-Conducts Routine cycle counts and maintains accurate stock levels for raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and pallets.
-Assists in placement and rotation of stock to optimize space and efficiency.
Technical Proficiency
-Uses SAP or ERP systems for scheduling and inventory data.
-Codes freight bills and understands basic AP workflows.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required: additional training in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
1-2 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory control preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP Preferred).
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Forklift certification is a plus.
