Description:

ALL4 is seeking an experienced Controller to work in our corporate office in the Greater Philadelphia Region. This individual will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, strategic, and hands-on in overseeing the financial operations of our dynamic, mission-driven firm. The Controller will lead all accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific financial regulations, and partner with other finance personnel in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support executive decision-making.


This position requires strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and experience in the professional services or consulting industry—ideally in environmental or engineering sectors

Requirements:
  • Supervise and coordinate accounting and financial operations staff.
  • Oversee all accounting operations and staff, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close as well as oversee the accounting for foreign currency translations and transactions, including transfer pricing assessments and analyses.
  • Manage domestic and international treasury functions including 1) cash flow forecasting and reporting, and 2) partnering with the CFO in support of lender relations and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other reports as requested by internal/external stakeholders.
  • Support operational decisions with consistent, actionable, and accurate operational information.
  • Collaborate with project managers to analyze financial performance and support cost control, develop and monitor budgets, job costing, and project profitability reporting.
  • Partner with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements and filing obligations.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Coordinate with HR and operations for payroll, benefits, and labor cost analysis.
  • Support strategic planning and risk management initiatives.
  • Assist with due diligence and integration activities related to acquisitions.
  • Manage and coordinate accounting and financial audits and other regulatory or required quarterly or annual reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, project-based accounting, and financial reporting preferably with experience in consulting, engineering, or environmental services industries.
  • Experience in a high-growth, low-to-middle market acquisitive company and work in a private equity sponsored company.
  • Experience with diligence and integration of add-on acquisitions.
  • Experience leading/managing financial statement audits and other accounting-oriented engagements (stock comp valuations, purchase accounting valuations, etc.).
  • Previous experience with foreign/international operations including foreign exchange. accounting on financial statements and treasury activities. Spanish language capabilities a plus.
  • Experience with completing/maintaining cash forecasts and cash management/treasury processes preferably in high leverage environments with covenant reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Deltek, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and Excel.
  • Experience and basic to intermediate capabilities with Power Bi.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead a small, and growing, finance team.
